Burglary tools, meth found on man sneaking around Benicia home


(KRON) – Burglary tools and methamphetamine were found on a suspect accused of prowling a residence, according to the Benicia Police Department. 

Around midnight on Thursday, Benicia police officers responded to West L Street. Officers were informed that an unknown person was prowling around a residence. 

Responding officers said they located the suspect hiding behind a vehicle in the driveway. Authorities subsequently detained the suspect. In searching the suspect, the suspect’s wallet, burglary tools, a meth pipe, a knife and a dagger were discovered and seized.

The suspect was identified as 62-year-old Walnut Creek resident David Brian Rettew. 

He was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail for disorderly conduct, possessing burglary tools, possessing a controlled substance and possessing unlawful paraphernalia.
